“God is the one who splits the grain and the date stone. He brings the living out of the dead” (6:95, our rendering).
The science. In 2005 a date seed found at Masada, dated to around 2,000 years old, was planted and grew. Scientists named the palm Methuselah. Later, more ancient Judean seeds were brought to life (Sallon et al., Science 2008; Science Advances 2020).
