The bee's map
Who taught the bee the way?
A honeybee flies home and dances. Round and round, then a waggle in a straight line. The direction of the waggle tells her sisters which way to fly. How long she waggles tells them how far.
The Qur'an says God inspired the bee: build homes in the mountains and the trees, and follow the ways made easy for you. From the bees comes honey “of many colours” (16:68–69). Pale gold from clover, dark from heather, each jar a different flower.
